The newly appointed caretaker Minister of Innovation and Growth, Irena Mladenova, took over the post from Tomislav Donchev at a handover ceremony held at the Ministry.
“I will work purposefully to create an environment in which ideas can thrive, innovation pursued with foresight translates into economic growth, and the results deliver tangible benefits for businesses and citizens. I will also focus on the timely implementation of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth’s EU programmes for business,” Mladenova said. She further underscored the importance of developing the innovation ecosystem. “Innovation can move our country’s economy to the next level – this is our task and our goal,” she added.
“Behind every reform that has been launched stand people and their efforts. Continuity is respect for their work and a guarantee that results will be achieved,” Donchev said.
Upon taking office, Minister Mladenova held a brief meeting and welcomed representatives of the European Space Agency (ESA), who are paying a working visit to the Ministry today in connection with the annual review of ongoing projects funded under the Agency’s programmes.
