In the economy of the future, it is not who produces the most and what access to resources they have that matters, but also who can nurture, retain and encourage talents to create. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev at the international conference “Explore U.S.” in Sofia.
“With the United States of America, we have the privilege and responsibility, but also the challenge, to cultivate talent that does what others cannot and discovers what others have not thought of,” said Donchev, emphasizing the importance of retaining talent.
He gave the example of students who are today making an experimental version of a rocket to launch a nanosatellite into geostationary orbit – something that 70 years ago was done by the entire economic and scientific potential of a country. He also pointed out the progress in technologies for preserving human health.
Deputy Prime Minister Donchev said that Bulgaria and the United States share common values and a potential for cooperation that is beyond doubt.
The event is organized by the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Innovation and Growth in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria. It aims to promote and develop trade and investment opportunities between Bulgaria and the United States. Bulgarian companies will also receive information on which sectors have the greatest potential for development in the American market.
