The Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Bulgaria H.E. Željko Jović held a working meeting today at the Ministry of Innovation and Growth. They discussed the deepening of bilateral economic relations between Bulgaria and Serbia in the field of innovation and high technologies.

“All countries in the region must unite and work together if we want to change our future, increase our competitiveness and be among the leading countries in terms of the creation of new technologies and their development,” Minister Stoycheva said during the meeting.

She introduced the Serbian ambassador to one of the goals of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth to turn the region into an innovation hub. For his part, H.E. Jović emphasized that placing scientific and research work at its center is of leading importance for the growth of an economy. According to him, four technology parks have been built in Serbia, and two more are currently being built.

Minister Stoycheva also said that within the framework of the WEB SUMMIT world technological conference, she held a meeting with the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia, Jelena Begović, regarding interaction in the field of new technologies, digitalization and scientific achievements.

“Bulgaria and Serbia have huge potential, thanks also to the people who are talented and hardworking. It is important to support and encourage them to develop, to develop their potential here in the region,” said Minister Stoycheva.
