ESA and Bulgaria signed a new European Cooperating State agreement. As Bulgarian Minister for Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer said, “Let this be symbolic of Bulgaria’s increased interest and commitment towards European space activities.”

ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher added, “I couldn’t say it better and I was very pleased to sign this renewed agreement for Bulgaria as a European Cooperating State today.”

The agreement enables Bulgarian companies and research organizations to participate in selection procedures and implement their projects with space application. It envisages the implementation of a Plan for a European Cooperative State, which aims to increase the readiness of the Bulgarian space sector for full participation in ESA programs in the future full membership of our country in the agency.
